The problem

Independent practice shouldn’t mean more work for you.

You give your child math to work on by themselves. But somehow you’re still the one reminding them to start, checking that they’re focused, helping when they’re stuck, grading every page, and figuring out what to do next.

The math may be theirs. The managing ends up yours.

Even when they work on their own, you still…

  • Make sure the work gets started and finished
  • Keep them focused and away from distractions
  • Help when they get stuck
  • Grade every page
  • Work out what they struggled with
  • Decide what to practice next, and track whether they’re improving

Homi takes care of the parts around the practice while your child still does the actual math.

For parents

Skip the stack of worksheets to grade.

Homi checks the work your child submits and looks for patterns in the mistakes, so you can see what needs more practice. It also helps keep practice focused and accountable, so you aren’t standing over every problem.

Homi handles the follow-through

  • Accountability

Helps keep practice focused and accountable.

  • Help when they’re stuck

Hints and smaller steps, not the answer.

  • Grading

    Every submitted page is checked.

  • Mistake analysis

Spots patterns in where your child is struggling.

  • Progress tracking

Accuracy and practice time, packet after packet.

  • What to practice next

Shows you what may need more practice.

Guided help

Help when they’re stuck — without immediately asking you.

When your child hits a tough problem, Homi gives hints and breaks it into smaller steps instead of handing over the answer. They keep thinking, and they can keep going on their own.

  • Hints before answers

Small nudges that point the way, never the answer.

  • Smaller steps

A hard problem gets broken into steps your child can handle.

  • The thinking stays with your child

Homi helps students think through problems themselves.

Instead of

“The answer is 42.”

Homi might say

“Let’s look at the ones column first. What is 8 + 4?”

Why paper?

The thinking and writing stay on paper.

Your child does the math by hand. Technology supports the practice instead of replacing it, handling the checking, guidance and tracking around it, so the work itself stays where thinking is easiest to see.

  • Students show their work

Every step is on the page, so mistakes are easy to trace.

  • Fewer digital distractions

No notifications, tabs or games competing for attention.

  • Stronger calculation habits

Neat columns and careful handwriting, built by hand.

  • No instant answers

There’s no button that does the math for them.

  • Focused, independent practice

Quiet time with a pencil and a problem.

  • Lower screen time

Screens are for starting and scanning, not solving.

Paper is the workspace.

Accuracy first, then speed.

Behind the practice

Master the foundation. Then move forward.

Every packet is part of a structured path. Children work through increasingly challenging material one skill at a time, so you can see when they’re ready to step up and what to practice next.

An illustrative path. Where a child starts depends on what they already know, not their age or grade.

Ready to move forward

When a skill is solid, you’ll see it, and the next step is clear.

Needs a little more practice

When a skill is still shaky, you’ll see that too, so it gets more practice before moving on.

A different approach

Two ways to practice math.

Screens have their place. Homi is built around a different goal: real understanding that you can see.

Screen-first practice

  • Screen is the workspace
  • Instant feedback
  • Easy to guess or click through
  • Limited visibility into written work

Homi

  • Paper is the workspace
  • Student shows their thinking
  • Homi checks the completed work
  • Parents see learning patterns and what’s next
  • Designed around mastery

Consistency Rewards

Practice consistently. Earn a lower price.

Complete at least 80% of your child’s scheduled packets in a billing period, and your monthly price steps down.

  2. First reward

  3. Loyalty rate

    $45/month

Qualify again in another billing period.

Starts with your next billing cycle. Yours to keep while your subscription stays active.

$15 less than the starting price, every month

Keep your loyalty rate

Once you unlock $45/month, it’s yours for as long as your subscription stays active. Missing the 80% target never raises a price you’ve already earned.

Based on completion, not accuracy

Rewards count the packets your child completes, not how many answers they get right, so a child who is still learning is never penalized.

If a subscription ends and you return later, pricing starts again at $60/month.

Pricing questions

Is shipping extra?

No. A month of printed packets is mailed to your home each month as part of your membership, with no separate shipping charge.

How do the discounts work?

Every membership starts at $60/month. If your child completes at least 80% of their scheduled packets during a billing period, your price drops to $50/month. After another qualifying billing period, it drops to $45/month.

When does a lower price take effect?

Always starting with your next billing cycle after the qualifying period ends, never in the middle of a billing period.

Do rewards depend on how many answers my child gets right?

No. Rewards count completed packets only, not accuracy. A child who is still learning a skill isn’t penalized for finding it hard.

What if we miss the 80% target one month?

Your price never goes up. Once you’ve earned a lower price, you keep it. Missing the target just means you don’t move to the next price that period. Once you reach $45/month, it stays that way for as long as your subscription remains active.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel through Plan & billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Earned pricing applies only while your subscription is active: if a subscription ends and you return later, pricing starts again at $60/month.

Give them the independence to practice. Keep the visibility to know how they’re doing.

Real practice.
Clear progress.
Less for you to manage.

FAQ

Questions parents ask.

Straight answers about how Homi works at home.

Do I need to sit with my child while they practice?

Homi is designed so you don’t have to. Your child works independently on paper. Homi helps keep the session on track, gives hints if they get stuck, checks the finished work, and shows you how it went. You can be as involved as you like.

What if my child gets stuck? Does Homi give the answers?

No, and that’s by design. When your child is stuck, Homi gives a hint and breaks the problem into smaller steps, so they keep doing the thinking. After grading, students review the questions they missed with a short hint about the idea behind the problem, not the final answer.

How does Homi keep practice focused?

Homi helps keep practice focused and accountable. The work happens on paper, each packet is assigned and tracked, and you can see whether it was completed and how long it took. There’s no button that gives answers. No tool can guarantee focus, but you’ll always be able to see how it went.

Does my child complete the work online?

No. Your child does the math by hand on printed worksheets. A device is only needed to start a packet and to scan the finished pages.

How does Homi grade handwritten work?

After finishing a packet, your child photographs each page. Homi reads the handwritten answers and checks them against the answer key. If an answer is too unclear to read with confidence, Homi flags it for review instead of guessing.

Can parents see their child’s progress?

Yes, that’s a big part of Homi. Your parent dashboard shows whether the work was completed, accuracy, time spent, mistakes, strengths, and the skills that need more practice. You can also open any completed packet to see which questions were missed.

How much screen time does Homi require?

Very little. A screen is used to start a packet, scan the finished pages, and review results or get guided help. The actual math, which is most of the time, happens on paper.

How do I know what level my child should start at?

Homi uses a placement check to see what your child already knows and recommend a starting level. From there, your child’s results show whether they’re ready to move forward or should practice a skill a little longer.

Do I need a printer?

No. Homi mails a month’s supply of printed packets to your home, so there’s nothing to print. Delivery is included in your membership, with no separate shipping charge.

What age is Homi for?

Homi is built around where your child is in math, not a particular age or grade. The program begins with early addition and builds step by step through multiplication, fractions, and on toward pre-algebra and beyond. We help you find the right starting point.
