Parental privacy notice
Version 2026-10-29. This notice is for the parent or legal guardian enrolling a child in Homi Academy, which is operated by FASH SOLUTIONS LLC, 24939 CLEARWATER WILLOW TRCE, RICHMOND, TX 77406. It explains what Homi collects about your child, why, who processes it, and how you give, verify and withdraw consent. Read it together with the Privacy Policy.
What Homi has before you consent
To set up enrollment and ask for your consent, Homi has your name and email address, and your child’s first name and grade level, which you entered. Homi needs your consent before it collects, uses or discloses any other information about your child. Until your consent is verified, your child can’t sign in, take the placement test, submit worksheets or use tutoring. If your consent isn’t verified, Homi deletes your child’s first name and grade no later than 60 days after you added your child. Your own parent account stays open until you ask Homi to close it.
What Homi collects with your consent
- Sign-in: a username for your child. You choose the password.
- Learning work: placement test answers, photos of completed worksheet pages, the handwritten answers and calculations on them, grades, assessment results and feedback.
- Progress: assigned packets, completion times, accuracy, lesson and practice progress, and learning history.
- Focus monitoring: while your child works on a packet, the camera and microphone are analyzed on the device, without contacting any outside service. Homi saves only the kind of event (such as looking away or talking), its time and duration, and small technical details such as the detector’s confidence. It doesn’t record or upload video, audio or images.
- Tutoring: the problem your child is working on, their answers and the tutoring conversation. If your child uses optional voice tutoring, their voice is sent for live speech processing.
Worksheet photos should show only the worksheet. Homi doesn’t ask for photos of your child.
How Homi uses it
Only to provide the service you’re enrolling in: grading your child’s work, giving feedback and tutoring, choosing the right packets, and showing you progress. Your consent doesn’t cover selling your child’s information, advertising, or training AI models, and Homi doesn’t do those things.
Who processes it for Homi
- Supabase: sign-in, database and private file storage.
- Anthropic: reads worksheet photos to transcribe answers, and writes feedback and tutoring responses.
- ElevenLabs: live speech processing, only when optional voice tutoring is used. Homi sets ElevenLabs not to record these conversations and to keep their audio and transcripts for zero days.
- Netlify and Render: host the Homi website and the voice tutoring service.
- Stripe: processes your payment. Stripe receives your name and email, your card details (which Homi never sees) and your child’s first name on the membership. Stripe doesn’t receive your child’s schoolwork.
- Packet delivery: printed packets are mailed by the U.S. Postal Service to the household address you give.
These providers act on Homi’s behalf to run the service. Homi doesn’t disclose your child’s information to anyone else, except where the law requires it. Your child’s device also connects to YouTube when your child plays a lesson video; the Privacy Policy explains what YouTube receives.
How you give and verify consent
At checkout you check one box confirming that you are the parent or legal guardian, and consenting as this notice describes. You then pay for the membership with a credit or debit card in your name. Card issuers notify the card’s primary account holder of each transaction, which is why this kind of payment is a recognized way to verify that a parent is giving consent. Homi can’t see the name on the card and doesn’t check it, so use a card for which you are the primary account holder. Prepaid cards, other payment methods and checkouts without a card charge can’t verify consent by payment. A promotion code can lower the amount charged, and every paid membership, including a discounted one, is verified by its card payment.
The free pilot membership has no card payment, so Homi staff verify pilot parents in person: a staff member checks your government-issued photo ID and confirms that you are the parent or legal guardian on your child’s Homi account. Homi doesn’t record the ID number or keep an image of the ID. Any other code that leaves nothing to charge can’t verify consent.
Your child’s account turns on only after Stripe confirms the payment directly to Homi, or after a Homi administrator records the in-person check. Returning to Homi from the checkout page doesn’t complete verification. If a payment can’t verify consent, Plan & billing tells you why and what to do next. Homi keeps a record of your consent: the date, the versions of this notice, the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy you accepted, and either the Stripe checkout and payment references and whether the card was a credit or debit card, or the administrator who recorded the in-person check with a short note of where and when it happened. Homi never stores card numbers.
Your choices and rights
- Review: you can see your child’s work, results and progress on your parent dashboard at any time, and ask Homi for a description and a copy of the information it holds.
- Delete: you can ask Homi to delete your child’s information. Once Homi confirms the request comes from you, it deletes the information from its active systems within 45 days and tells you when it’s done.
- Move your child: you can ask Homi to transfer your child, with their work and progress, to another parent or legal guardian who has their own Homi account. Homi confirms the request with you first. Memberships don’t move, and where consent is required the other parent or guardian gives their own before your child can use Homi again.
- Withdraw consent: use “Withdraw consent” in Plan & billing, or email Homi. Using the button stops your child’s account right away, and Homi stops collecting their information. To stop future charges, also cancel the membership in Manage billing.
- Camera and microphone: they can be turned off in your child’s browser, but focus monitoring needs them, and your child can’t complete a packet in Homi without monitoring. Voice tutoring is optional.
Send requests to support@homiacademy.com from your parent account’s email address. Homi confirms the request by replying to that address before sharing or deleting anything.
How long Homi keeps it
Homi keeps your child’s information while their membership is active and they use Homi, and deletes it no later than 6 months after the membership ends or you withdraw consent, or once your child hasn’t used Homi for 12 months. Closing your own parent account doesn’t by itself delete your child’s information: tell Homi whether to delete it or to move your child to another parent or guardian’s Homi account. If Homi receives neither request, it deletes your child’s information no later than 6 months after your account is closed. Canceling a membership doesn’t delete information either. Billing, shipping and consent records are kept only as long as the law requires. The Privacy Policy has the full schedule, including backups.
